As we wake and are gifted another day, let us take the time to reflect and grow. All too often we know what we don’t want, what we don’t like, what’s not working, but we don’t know specifically what we do want and what would be better.
One thing I say often to myself, my clients & students, is “go down the rabbit hole, stay a little longer”. When something isn’t right, when you are not happy with a situation, stay in that space. Instead of complaining and going in circles of frustration and negativity, go down the rabbit hole.
What isn’t working? Why? What would be better? What are your expectations? What can you control? Are you open to “other” outcomes? What are you attached to? There are so many questions you can ask yourself to find answers on how to improve a situation, instead of taking that same energy complaining and not moving forward towards a solution.
This long weekend take sometime to learn a little more about yourself, your beliefs, your needs, wants, expectations. This awareness will gift you intimate information about you and how to find the path towards an authentic life of positivity, potential and growth.
I understand things may not be the way you wish they were –
Many of us feel this way about one thing or another. Because of that reality, so many us have forgotten how to think outside of the box. There’s always more than one way to do anything.
Also due to the extended amount of time we are practicing social distancing we have also isolated ourselves from others and the intimacy and support we receive while sharing human contact. This can lead us to a self centeredness which takes us away from our community, a way of thinking that considers others, how our actions and words effect others.
Due to all that is going on there are times where we can feel out of control and that we are putting out fires as opposed to taking the reigns of our lives and seeing the bigger picture, thinking more globally.
I have noticed within me, my home and in the “world” whether virtually or in person how so many of us from time to time have sunken into these depressive states (longing for what was), anxious mindsets (concerned for what the future may be) and selfish behaviors (only considering oneself and not thinking or seeing how we effect others).
Let’s all try to remember:
– We are greater than one thought.
– We have a greater effect than just the situation in front of us. Let the ripple of your actions be one of greatness.
– When we are alone there is a reason. It takes time and hard work to grow. Sit in the uncomfortable spaces and ask yourself the hard questions. Stay.
– We are all human. Love, compassion and patience can go a long way. Show up for yourself and others.
– If we don’t go out of our way to support each other personally and professionally we will create a society that relies solely on big business, digital communication and isolation. The very thing we are complaining about.
PLEASE – If you are not happy with having to practice social distancing, having your kids schooling online and all the other “inconveniences” we are currently experiencing DO NOT BECOME COMPLACENT!
It takes a little more effort but try to remember what you are “missing”. It is not a specific thing – it is greater than that. Try a little harder to find it, create it and sustain it. We can do this – You can do this. Just remember what is important to you and keep it in the forefront of your mind. Be creative, your Life is waiting for you.
